xMEMS Solid-State µSpeaker Technology Selected for Nothing Headphone (1) Pro

Adoption of next-generation MEMS speaker technology brings clarity, precision, and high-resolution audio performance to premium headphones.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — October 13, 2026 — xMEMS Labs, Inc., today announced the first commercial adoption of its solid-state µSpeaker technology in the headphone market, debuting in Nothing’s new premium over-ear headphones, Headphone (1) Pro. Following the shipment of more than one million µSpeaker units across wireless earbuds, smart sports glasses, and professional IEMs, the collaboration marks the next phase of commercial expansion for xMEMS’ solid-state audio platform.

The introduction of Headphone (1) Pro extends xMEMS’ presence beyond earbuds and into premium over-ear headphones, bringing the precision, clarity, and high-resolution audio performance of solid-state audio to an entirely new product category.

As demand grows for higher-resolution and more immersive listening experiences, manufacturers are increasingly turning to MEMS architectures to overcome the limitations of conventional speaker designs. xMEMS’ solid-state µSpeaker technology delivers the speed, precision, and consistency required to reproduce today’s highest-quality audio formats.

This latest commercial adoption validates the value of MEMS speakers in hearables and wearables, as device manufacturers increasingly adopt solid-state µSpeaker technology to deliver pro-grade reference sound quality in premium audio products.

“We’re excited to see our solid-state µSpeaker architecture incorporated into Nothing’s latest flagship headphones,” said Steven Bentley, Vice President of Worldwide Sales at xMEMS Labs. “As demand for higher-quality listening experiences continues to grow, solid-state µSpeaker technology is creating new opportunities to improve accuracy, detail, and consistency in personal audio devices.”

The integration of a silicon-based treble driver reflects a broader industry shift toward semiconductor-enabled audio architectures as manufacturers seek new ways to improve performance, fidelity, and listening experiences.

As consumers increasingly embrace high-resolution streaming services and lossless music libraries, demand for playback systems capable of reproducing that additional information continues to grow. While audio files may contain significantly more musical detail than conventional CD-quality formats, listeners can only benefit if the playback system can reproduce those nuances accurately.

With silicon’s inherent rigidity and precision, xMEMS speakers preserve subtle timing information, spatial cues, and fine musical details that contribute to a more natural and immersive listening experience.

“Great products come from rethinking what’s possible,” said Cobo Kuo, Headphone Category Product Lead at Nothing. “Our new triple-driver architecture represents a significant advancement in personal audio, delivering greater clarity, richer detail, and more immersive sound. By incorporating xMEMS Labs’ solid-state µSpeaker technology, we’re able to achieve a new level of precision and realism while continuing to push the boundaries of what listeners can expect from consumer headphones.”
