Director of Amplifier IC Design


To build and lead an IC design team designing a new breed of switch-mode amplifier IC for driving xMEMS speakers.

  • Successful candidates should possess strong backgrounds in all aspects of switch mode circuits design.
  • Relevant experience includes switching power supplies (SMPS), Class-D or -H audio amplifiers for mobile applications.
  • Ability to perform hands-on design while leading and training junior team members will be highly valued.
  • Will need to co-work across different time zones between CA and TWN.

This role may be located either in HsinChu/Taipei, Taiwan or SF Bay Area (preferred). Worldwide location acceptable for the exceptional candidate.


As this is a team building role, occasional overseas travel is expected.

Systems Hardware Engineer

  • Transform design concepts or block diagrams into custom system hardware solutions
  • Design, implement, debug and characterize embedded systems with end-to-end ownership of EE product design
  • Design 3D systems housings, schematics, complete board layouts, assembly, test, debug, and integrate designs into prototype and demonstration consumer audio systems
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party contract manufacturers to produce our demonstration systems
  • Drive the resolution of technical issues by working with the cross-functional teams: Electrical, Mechanical, SW, Quality, Reliability as well as the various CM teams
  • Perform lab measurements, and factory tests as needed to validate the design and resolve any issues
  • Track test progress, bugs, and fixes and produce regular progress reports
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up and product NPI experience. Audio/acoustic systems design experience is a plus.
  • Experience with low-power circuit design, power management methods, audio circuit design, and analog design
  • Experience with processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.
  • Experience with mixed-signal board-level design
  • Experience developing robust designs for ESD/EMI immunities and RF de-sensitization
  • Experience integrating RF technologies such as Bluetooth
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Chinese fluently

Senior Product Marketing Manager, Audio

  • Lead the product definition, product management, and promotion of xMEMS transducers/speakers across a broad range of consumer electronics market segments, including True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, AR/VR, TV, Soundbar, Smart Speakers, PCs, Smartphones, Automotive Audio.
  • Utilize technology, market, customer and competitive data to define next-generation products and roadmaps that extend xMEMS’ market and technology leadership.
  • Lead the MRD and PRD phases of the xMEMS Product Development Process.
  • Collaborate with Sales, AE, FAE, Operations and Engineering teams to achieve customer design-ins and manage customer programs to mass production.
  • Prioritize and drive customer engagement strategies
  • Competitive analysis and positioning.
  • Go-to-market planning, strategy and execution, including product promotion, industry events, trade shows, press announcements, whitepapers, website updates, and partnerships.
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing/management of audio semiconductors to mobile consumer electronics OEMs/ODMs
  • Track record of success in product definition, launch, and sustained market leadership in consumer semiconductors
  • Ability to work independently and achieve goals in a fast-moving start-up environment
  • Ability to work both with internal engineering and external customers
