Accountant / Office Administrator

Job Summary:

xMEMS is Reinventing Sound with the world’s first monolithic MEMS microspeakers for consumer audio devices.

We are looking for an Accountant that will be responsible for the overall bookkeeping, processing of accounts payable & receivable, and other GL account(s). Reconciliation of GL accounts on a month-end/quarter-end basis. Filing all support documentation in a timely manner. This individual should understand the basics of financial accounting process flows, have experience with generating financial reports, as well as overall management and maintenance of accounting software that will be utilized by the company. Also, he/she must have a track record of honesty and integrity and be able to maintain the strictest of confidentiality outside the organization, as well as internally within the organization.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monitors company’s outstanding bills, arranges payment schedules and attaches the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with supporting documentation.
  • Monitors customer discrepancies and past-due amounts, issuing reminders and following up with clients and vendors for payment.
  • Resolves payment/collection issues with vendors and customers.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information to ensure records are accurate and complete and that account ledgers and journals are up to date.
  • Performs month end/quarter end account reconciliations and year end audit schedule, as necessary.
  • Other accounting & administration tasks, as necessary.
  • Assists office and facility related tasks.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2+ Years of Finance / Accounting Experience appreciated.
  • Excellent communication skills, and a diligent eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to write professional emails.
  • CPA License Certification appreciated, but not required.
  • Experience with on-line accounting systems, such as QuickBooks, is a plus.
