Will Graves builds concentrated, high-conviction investments in the dynamic technology sector, where silicon, optics, software, and autonomy converge. He began his career as a Naval Officer, serving as an Engineering and Electronics Division Officer aboard large surface combatants before commanding detachments of the Navy’s LCAC hovercraft, leading 120+ personnel in amphibious and joint-force operations. After earning his MBA from The Wharton School, Will entered Silicon Valley, gaining deep operational experience in infrastructure startups. He joined Terraspring, an early pioneer in data center and cloud computing infrastructure (acquired by Sun Microsystems), and later became an early team member at FireEye, working with the founder and Sequoia Capital to help build a next-generation cybersecurity platform. Will was later a Technology Sector Portfolio Manager at Stark Investments, a multi-strategy hedge fund with approximately $18 billion in assets, where he managed a long/short equity portfolio and led venture investments across the technology verticals. An entrepreneur at heart, in 2012, he founded Boardman Bay Capital Management, a technology-focused investment firm operating across hedge fund and venture strategies. Boardman Bay specializes in semiconductors, AI hardware, photonics, robotics, and automation, backing companies with deep technical moats and long-term structural advantage. Throughout its history, Boardman Bay has delivered strong returns and unique, differentiated products to its investors with its “Opportunity Funds.” Will led the Series C investment in Ayar Labs, where he serves on the Board of Directors. Other notable investments include Credo (CRDO), Groq, Elenion (acquired by Nokia), and Grab. Boardman Bay has also launched differentiated investment products, including a SaaS Fund and a dedicated Optical Infrastructure Fund, offering focused exposure to the firm’s most deeply researched sectors. Outside of investing, Will and his wife own and operate Goldfish Swim Schools of Westchester County, where their team teaches 5,000+ children per week, promoting water safety and drowning prevention. Will is also an accomplished sailor, having won multiple national and international championships across collegiate, one-design, and offshore disciplines, including competitions in the America’s Cup, Olympic campaigns, and major global regattas. He remains active as a mentor in youth sailing and one-design fleet development. He holds a BS from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from The Wharton School.
